The Sunday Email - Part 2
Last week, I wrote a post called the
"Sunday Email". If you have missed it,
you can read it below.
I'm going to write the Part 2 today.
Here's an interesting quote I want you
to ponder...
"It's like the Wizard of Oz. We're looking
for a wizard seeking a heart, a brain and
courage, and the wizard says you already
have these things. All you need to do is to
use it. When you believe in your great
indomitable self, then all things are
possible." – Marva Collins
We keep on seeking for the magic pill.
I mean, I can still remember when I first
get started out to build my online business
back in 2003 – I was seeking for the
'magic pill'.
Did I found it?
Kinda. And it took me about 3 months
to find out that...
I need to build a mailing list.
If you didn't know that, this tip itself
is worth your subscription to my newsletter
or reading this blog today.
But for those who knew, it's ain't no secret
to them.
So we seek the next 'secret' of how to
build a list, magically.
What's the answer you'll get?
I'll tell you...
Use the conventional ways that have been
proven to work.
You see, the main reason why the veteran
internet marketers keep on making more money
each year is because they focus on MASTERING
the basics. If they have found what were proven
to work for them successfully, all they need
to do is to figure out how to enhance them.
Look at Microsoft Windows.
How many upgrade versions they already
have since the day it was introduced? I
lost count. The keyword here is, "Upgrade".
They don't stop selling "Windows" and
come up with a new software thatthey
think will be successful in the market.
They ride on what have already been successful
and improve it.
So if we don'taccept this fact, we'll
continue to seek the "Wizard of Oz" for the
ultimate secret of internet success.
But... it's already in front of you.
Until I take action of what I know, I
don't think I'm ready to consume the new
stuff into my brain to process for profit.
I'm not asking you to stop buying products
online. Hey, I'll keep on recommending
new products for you to buy and I don't
mind telling that to you openly. In fact,
I'll be developing more courses in the future
for you because I know it'll help you to be
more profitable on the internet.
What I want to stress to you is that, MASTER
what have been proven to work for you.
The next topic I want to address is about
giving value to your visitors/subscribers by
offering free gifts.
If you want to give a free gift to them,
make sure it's something worthy.
I can understand that some of these free
gifts are use as 'viral tools' to promote the
'real' product. That's fine and I think that's
a good tactic. I do that as well.
But if you want to do that, I'll suggest that
you'll give real content in your free gift
because it'll backfire if it's just another bad
sales pitch for the product you're trying to sell.
And please, do not underestimate your
subscriber/visitor's intelligence. Don't say
your free gift worth $197 when it can be
downloaded on the internet for free. That's
just plain stupid and... insulting.
End of the day, I still think that...
"Honesty is the best policy".
The idea to make this tactic effectively is
to have a lot of good content in your free gift
that it builds your credibility as a great
product creator. Then once you sell your
'real' product, it'll automatically be assumed
that it's a great product.
They'll go thinking,
"If the free product has so much value in it,
I bet that the paid product must be many
times better."
Speaking of gifts, Detlev Reimer, an internet
friend of mine, is giving away his software,
Promo Buddy for free. He used to sell that
previously for $67 (I think) but he's giving it
away for free right now.
The honest truth why he's doing so is
because he wants to build his list again.
You can download it at:
http://www.internetmarketing-tactics.com/recommends/detlev
So why am I doing this?
There are several reasons to that.
The first one -- Detlev was the person who
believed in me when I first started my
internet marketing 'career'. I think... it
touches my heart for that. Detlev, thanks.
The other reason is that, the software is
indeed a useful software.
And finally, he'll have an offer for you
to buy his other products at the "Thank-you"
page. If you decide to order those, I'll
make affiliate commission for recommending
this. If you do't buy, that's fine. Just
use the software for free.
Re: Keep your words
You'll probably heard of the term "firesale"
before. This is a product promotion that
have a certain timeframe for you to order.
If you miss the dateline, you won't be
able to order it anymore. If you can, then
you might have to pay for an increased price.
This applies to certain product launch as well.
Now – if you decide to use this 'urgency
creation' marketing tactic, make sure you
stick to your words.
Let's be honest. If you said you're going to
sell 100 copies but end up selling 150 copies,
you're not going to get 'caught' right?
You have a valid point.
But if you ever get 'caught', don't expect
to pull-off the 'urgency creation' tactic again.
It'll sound really cheesy.
And don't forget that you'll lose your
credibility to your joint venture partners
and affiliates as well. That's the worst thing
that can happen because you'll need them
again for future product promotions.
Re: How to make money from Adsense
If you're totally new to the word "Adsense",
it's all explained at Google's site,
www.google.com/adsense
There are all kind of tools and courses
related to making money from Adsense.
But before you jump on this bandwagon,
I want you to understand that Adsense is just
another type of an internet business model.
It's not the same as building a mailing list
or creating an info-product to sell.
You don't do joint ventures to make
money from Adsense.
You'll spend most of your time to understand
how does the search engine works.
And with all kind of promises thrown to you,
note that it takes a lot of time and effort
to make money from Google Adsense Program.
That's the ugly part.
The beautiful part is, you can still make
money from Google Adsense.
Don't buy hope. Don't buy a magic pill.
Keep in mind – It takes effort and time
to achieve success with Adsense. And, it
can be very boring.
But it's worth doing it. Until today, I'm
still making money from Google Adsense
on auto-pilot.
The main thing you need to know about
making money in this business model is
finding ways how to get high ranking
in the search engines.
I'll be making a 'farewell sale' for my
Adsense course, The Publishing Business
Secrets. Once the 63 sets are all gone, they
are gone. If you want to grab the last
few copies, see:
http://www.publishingbusinesssecrets.com
Finally, I want to end by letting you know
another secret about building a mailing list...
you'll have new subscribers and subscribers
that will unsubscribe from your list.
This means, as much as growing your list is
important, maintaining a list is a MUST. And
to maintain your list is to understand why
they subscribe, what they want and giving
them what they want.
Enjoy your Sunday.

this is so funny...
funny that you are talking about keeping ones word etc.
i bought the publishing business secrets system, if i remember right you hyped the salesletter that this is the only set to be sold maybe forever...
in this same sundayemail you later on talks about adsense and how to make money...yep you guessed right...the publishing business secrets system
is soon to be reopened and sell some copies...
in your shoes i would rather concentrate on giving the earlier buyers some s-u-p-p-o-r-t instead of looking to make even more fast cash...
or am i totally wrong now?
quote on publishing business secrets system website:
"...Remember, once it's gone, IT'S GONE. - Patric Chan
It'll be open for sale on October 8th, 2006."
Hi Partic,
I lost my list too. One pitfalls of using a crappy autoresponder service. I want to warn everyone to make sure that you are using a reliable service that is not shared by spammers, and that cleans out bad emails. I know you don't want to see your numbers go down, but sending a ton of bad emails will get you blacklisted by the ISPs and you'll never get anything through. I've switched to aweber, and as much as I dislike some of the restrictions, it will be better for my business in the long run.
We need someone to write a book on autoresponder pitfalls - things you may not know...
Thanks Patric!
