Sunday Email Part 7
"Sunday Email" was supposed to be sent out on Sundays. It's Monday today. Heck. I'm publishing it anyway with the "Sunday Email" title. :-)
What's Hot To Sell?
If you're in the internet marketing niche, that's pretty easy. Just follow the launches going on and you'll be able to notice the trend. But certain topics will give you better conversion than the rest. For instance, a software that can automatically write a salesletter will sell better than an ebook teaching someone to write a salesletter.
In my opinion, generally a product that ACTUALLY does the work for you will sell better than teaching you how to do it.
Secondly, a product related to traffic and making money online will sell better than a course that teaches you how to... let's say, build a website.
Can you see why? Because learning how to build a website is not 'sexy' and it's not going to make you rich. Unless, you know how to position your product so that learning how to build a website that churns money out for your prospects.
If you're not in the "internet marketing" niche, you can know what's hot based on what are people searching online. For instance, you can go to http://www.google.com/press/zeitgeist.html to see what's hot in Google.com.
Other free way to find out what's hot, you can use eBay's Pulse to see what's hot in eBay.com at http://pulse.ebay.com/
The Truth About Writing Longer Pages Of eBooks
The more pages a book has, the more value it has. Yeah, go ahead and debate with me all you want.
Some of the BEST knowledgeable information can be found within 5 pages of information. Meaning, you don't NEED a 100-page ebook on fly fishing to teach you how to catch a fish.
The fact is, 100 pages makes the book look 'comprehensive' and it MUST be worth the money to be paid for it. Is that true? Only in the eyes of perceived value.
I mean, have you read a search engine optimization ebook with 200 pages? I have. And I can find the exact information in a 10-page report I've read as well. Isn't that ironic?
What's the difference between the 200-page and the 10-page one? The number of pages, that is. That's all! The author of the 200-page product will sell more than the other author solely based upon the number of pages and have less refund rates.
It's deceiving, I know. But do you want to make more sales and have less refunds or not? If you're answer is a resounding yes, just listen to me for your own good. Please.
Yeah, I know short reports SELL. I totally agree with you on that. But if you take that small report and make it big while maintain at the same pricing, don't you think you'll sell more and have less refund? You decide and I listen.
Another Thought About Niche Marketing
Many people still failed to understand 'niche marketing'. In fact, I couldn't blame them because so many people are selling courses about niche marketing and it's getting really confusing.
Let's say you want to go into the "gardening" niche market. One of the simplest ways to do this is to build an online business in the sub-niches like home gardening, bonsai tree gardening, cold weather gardening, etc. You've heard about this method MOST of the time in all kind of courses, including the crappy ones.
Have you thought about creating and selling a gardening software? Think of a simple software applications can greatly enhance the daily experience for gardeners, and help them plan for better results.
A basic software application that computed the amount of time it would take to grow a plant, or fruit from seed, to maturity would be a smash hit amongst techie gardeners around the world.
Ready to take the application to the next level? Try building in internet links for various plants, and seed companies that will provide gardening stuff at a good price.
This software application can be implemented in a trial version onto a website as a script, or flash application. Let the customers try a few calculations to test the software’s capabilities, and then prompt them to purchase it. Whatever.
Get programmers scriptlance.com or rentacoder.com to design a simple gardening software application. With the program complete, simply setup a website, and offer it as a shareware on Cnet.com and other major download sites as a free trial.
If you understand and can see the world of 'niche marketing', it's almost endless of what you can do. The point here is, there are so many branches that can be extended. And you can even go into those so-called competitive niche if you know how to work your way in easily.
