I've Prepared 8 Copy Points

There's a well-known marketing term,
described by the acronym pf AIDA.

A: Attention

I: Interest

D: Desire

A: Action

First, you capture your prospect's
attention.

This is done with your headline.

Put it this way-- if your ad fails to
capture your prospect's attention, it
fails EVERYTHING.

They won't read your salesletter or
notice your offer if they never 'passed'
the headline.

Then you want to build a strong interest
in your prospect. You want them to keep
reading, because if he reads, they just
might buy the stuff you're selling.

Read this technique completely
and the other 7 powerful advertising
tips in my new report...

Writing Powerful BackEnd Offers"

How To Avoid Losing Money Building A List

You now know that having a mailing list is crucial for your internet success. No? Well, read my blog at www.internetmarketing-tactics.com/blog.html.

It's kinda hard to say how much money you can make from a mailing list. I've done promotion with less than 2,000 click through's and generated over $10,000 USD. At the same time, I've made less than $100 USD from 500 clickthroughs.

Isn't that weird?

If you ask me, I'll say it's rather hard to predict what kind of results you can get.

Generally, it all depends. It all depends on who you have on your list.

Meaning, if you have built your list by offering "freebies" to your subscribers then you can expect that you will earn the 1% profit rate. However, if you have built your list from current customers who have already bought from you in the past, then you can expect that your earnings percentage rate will climb considerably.

Your current customers are where your profits lie in wait. And it is much, much easier to earn a decent income from the higher ticketed items when you know that the people you are marketing this to will spend their money.

I mean, in all honesty-- I have doubts I'll be rich if I'm selling $7 products. Some do, but definitely not me.

One of the things I teach in internet marketing is the X-factor. Marketing results vary because there are so many variables and influencers in one single promotion.

You can calculate all you want like a mad scientist but it's not going to be the real truth. A benchmark, maybe. Well... a benchmark is still better than shooting in the dark.

This is not to say that you can't make a living by building a list of "freebie seekers". The best way to go with them is to offer them something good for a small price. This is usually the kind of thing they will go for. Or maybe, consider promoting pay-per-lead program. They don't have to pay and you get paid for sending them to subscribe something else.

To really earn good profits from your mailing list there is a secret. The secret is... Have More Than ONE List. Heard of that before? Good.

Yup. That's it. That's the secret.

And boy, I'm TIRED of using the word "secret" again. (smile)

That's the trick. Have more than one mailing list.

Now, if you only have one list you rely on to earn money, then you already know what to expect. If your conversion is 1% or whatever, then promoting a $27 will earn you $27 out of 100 subscribers.

Don’t forgot–- 10,000 subscribers does not means that you can command 10,000 visitors. No way, bucko. The best bet you can hope for is 20% conversion which will translate to 2,000 visitors. And that's if it's your lucky day.

But, that equation DOUBLES if you have two lists to pull in profits from. Want to triple it? Then have 3 lists. And so on and so forth.

Do you think that the so called "gurus" only rely on one list for their earnings?

If you do, then you better take up a new "guru" to admire because it's obviously he’s not going to be in business for long. And the smart ones will have their list to be highly targeted to that topic. This is call sub-listing.

So instead of picking a general topic like earning money, you narrow that down to stay-at-home parents earning money. Then, to be sure you turn a profit with your little "niche" list, you only promote those products or services that will be of use, or help to them. THAT'S how you make your money from mailing lists. That's how the big boys do it. And that's how YOU should be doing it.

Have you thought of branding?

Most people think that "branding" is just a way to pound your slogan into your potential customer’s heads. I was that at first. But now, I realized that branding of YOUR PERSONALITY is very important online.

Here's a true story...

Last week, I was away speaking and did not check my email. To my astonishment, I was downloading over 200 emails and 80% of them are subscriptions that I have with others. You know, I was just being a spy to know what's happening in the internet marketing world. (smile)

The shocking fact is this-- There are tons of marketers trying to 'sell' me all kind of latest courses or software when they are all the 'same'. But for those that I recognized them by their brand, I paused to read what they have to say. Isn't that powerful? This is what I mean by grapping the mindshare of a subscriber.

You see, branding in part is about conveying a specific emotion and likeness towards you.

You can't just choose some colors you like for a logo, create a neat graphic, and have that be your brand for all of eternity. Branding is about much more than that. It's about conveying who you are... and more often than not, it's about conveying an emotion. What can a reader feel about you?

That means that you need to start by thinking about exactly what you stand for.

Remember, people buy on emotion and justify with logic. If you can get yourself and your products to become associated with a specific emotion, you'll be able to get your potential customers in the right emotional state-- before you even start throwing any sales pitch in front of them.

Connect to your potential customers emotionally, and they'll become customers.

Applying a brand to your subscribers is a good start.

You don't want your potential customers to have to stop and think what the recommendation that you're giving will mean to them. Instead, you want to translate those recommendations into benefits and outcomes. You want to hook into their emotion and allow them to visualize how it will make them feel to use your follow your recommendation.

Got that clear? Good.

If you have been reading the "Sunday Email" series, I'll always ask for your favor to leave a Comment if you find value of what you've read. It'll be most appreciated because I read every single one of them. (smile)

They Asked Me For The Secret

Recently, I've launched my www.livechallengesale.com for 72 hours in front of hundreds of live audience in a seminar room and made some decent income. (It's over now.)

Many of the participants were amazed-- not that I've made a lot of money but the fact that money can be created out of thin air from the internet.

So I get this question from many of them...

"What is your secret, Patric?"(You see that coming, didn't you?)

Well, I should have said I have a secret so that I can feel absolutely intelligent.

But darn. I lead in the truth...

The only "secret" to successful Internet marketing is this—there are no secrets.

The very use of the term "secret" is a marketing tactic and I'm guilty of using it occasionally. Is it wrong doing so? Is marketing tactics something wrong? If your answer is no, then the answer is no. Marketing is not wrong.

The fact remains that internet marketing still involves work and lots of it. When I say that I know a lot of successful internet marketing gurus, I'm not to brag. But to lead-in to another truth-- they work REALLY HARD. Some work like a dog. I think I work like a dog, sometimes. Of course in a positive way.

Boy, I know many would dislike me to tell out this truth. It just shattered the dreams of many people that internet business IS the path to financial freedom and stop working. On a separate point of view, that's good because it'll get rid of the tire kickers.

In fact, it has been my experience that internet marketing is not a quick and easy path to "easy money". But if you're planning to build a real business, I think it's much easier doing it online than setting up a Kentucky Friend Chicken outlet and sell fried chickens. Besides, selling fried chicken is not going to create a lot of healthy people in your neighborhood. (smile)

Generating a sustainable income via internet marketing does not happen overnight. Success is fleeting, especially early on until you establish yourself in your niche market and slowly begin to dominate them.

Internet marketing takes much hard work, persistence, knowledge, creativity, and above all else, time. Internet marketing is not the quick and easy road to riches that some would have you believe.

Internet marketing also has a very high learning curve because you need to learn marketing, business and some little technical aspect. In a nutshell, it takes time to master.

I have been involved with Internet marketing for 4 years now and have experienced some major successes of my own. But even with that, I'm still learning every time.

Now, if you're marketing in the internet marketing niche itself, expect to double your effort and time because you'll be competing with Derek Gehl, Shawn Casey, Mike Filsaime, Patric Chan, Russell Brunson, Stephen Pierce, Ewen Chia, Yanik Silver, Andrew Fox, John Delavera, Joel Christopher, Jim Edwards, Armand Morin, Tellman Knudson, Harris Fellman, Keith Baxter, Mark Joyner, Gary Ambrose, Jimmy D.Brown, Jeff Walker, Jason Potash, Jo Han Mok, Alex Mandosian, Jeremy Gislason, John Reese, Jason James, Bryan Kumar, Allen Says, Dr.Mani, Dr.Mike Woo-Ming, Larry Dotson and gosh... who else did I miss? A lot. I can easily name an extra 100 names of marketers.

"Patric, you're supposed to say how great internet marketing is."

Yes it is. But if I don't reveal what really happens behind the scene, I'm doing a disfavor to you and to the extend-- creating false hope for good people like you and others.

So I have my reasons.

It's simple. If what I've said did not scare or turn you off, then you're going to be one of those success cases with internet marketing. Your name will be wildly known in your niche. You know what your obstacles are and you'll be able to overcome them with a snap of your fingers.

Although it's not easy, it's worth doing it. Just imagine- the capability of executing "money on demand". Now, that's an inspiration that will take you far.

If I didn't start 4 years ago, I don't think I'm able to make money as easy as I want today. Yes, from a click of a button.

I don't care if it'll take years to achieve coz it's WORTH IT. Every single sweat poured in it.

Creating wealth was never this easy in my life-- especially for someone who doesn't goes to a college or University and who does not write in fluent English.

"So you're doing some self-help pep talk now eh, Patric?"

Whatever, man. My point is that I hope you get the value of what you read. If it motivates you, good. If not, it's ok... you just wasted 10 minutes of reading my crap. Sorry about that.

Remember though, I have already said that there are no secrets unless the secret to internet marketing success is a mixture of hard work, dedication, perseverance, patience, creativity, time, knowledge, etc. Of course this isn't a secret that would sell very well now is it?

Try going out to tell obesity people that they need to stop eating nonsense food and wake up 6.30 AM to exercise for an hour every day. I don’t think that kind of advice will definitely NOT sell.

No one wants to hear something like that for free, much less pay to hear something like that! But I guess if no ones want to be the bad guy, I'll take that responsibility of revealing the truth. Am I the good guy now? Like I said, whatever man.

There's no secret but there's a surefire method to achieve success online. This method can help you to generate money on demand. And it is...

Having a mailing list.

Not just some stupid mailing list you can blast your promotion. You can get one in a phonebook directory.

I'm talking about a list of real people that reads your email and take action because they like and trust you.

I'll probably guess what's the next question...

"How do I build a mailing list, Patric?"

Simple. Instead of explaining to you in a full-blown course, here's the straight answer--

Make sure all of your websites have an opt-in mechanism that the visitor can subscribe to your list. So if this answer applies to you, your main focus is to drive traffic to your site. That's it.

I mean, c'mon. You can't build a list if you don't have traffic. There might be one or two other methods like co-registration list promotion, buying a list, etc but how many people have that kind of knowledge or expertise?

Ironically, the 'secret' is not about building a mailing list as well. I'm not trying to be philosophical and make you darn confused but to paint a bigger picture in your brain. It's about knowing how to build a relationship and apply permission marketing to your list.

The simplest advice I can give to do this is this--

If your subscribers are your friends, what will you email to them periodically to make sure that they'll gain value from you? Answer that correctly and you'll have a good list. A money-making cashcow.

Success is there for the taking, if you make up your mind from the beginning to see where you can be. Despite the claims of "easy money" being made by thousands of Internet gurus the world over, you WILL have to work hard and persevere. You can't do "nothing" and watch the cash roll into your PayPal account. It just doesn't work that way, bucko.

But it sure works if you start planting your seed today. Yeah, right now.

You see, success doesn't happen overnight but in increments. If you are serious about building a successful online business, no one can make it happen other than you yourself.

Are you ready? Yeah, sure, right. Don't prove it to me-- prove it to yourself.

Once you're there, I hope to receive an email from you saying, "Patric, I took up your advice and I'm successful today."

You "Chan" Do It!

-Patric Chan

P.s: You still want to be a "lazy" marketer and make money each month? Of course you can. But hey, don’t expect this to be your 'real' business. It will not be possible. If you can agree to that, I’ll recommend you to go to www.automateinternetmarketing.com/cc/lazy

Sunday Email Part 9 (Early Edition)

How are you?

It's been a long time since I asked you that. Last week, I was away speaking for Unleash Your Marketing Genius, an event by Stephen Pierce. Just in case if you have no clue who's Stephen, just go to www.winintheniche.com. I'll put up some pictures and talk more about it in the next post.

You Can Smell It... Weeks Ahead

Sometimes, a month ahead. You probably have no clue what I'm talking about - Product launch in the internet marketing world. Here's how it normally works:

The marketer will start to give away a free report or sequences of videos. It might even be several free tele-calls. Whatever. They call it the 'teaser'.

Did you see that coming? (smile)

When I check my mailbox and gotten 7 emails from different marketers giving that same free gift, I've already knew it.

So... who's getting the advantage here?

If you're me, you'll either feel sick with this 'fake' free gift or you'll be excited to see the real product. With all means, I’m not saying that the free gift has no value -- I'm saying that you might feel your intelligence is being insulted. Ouch.

If you'[re a marketer using this method:

You'll probably debate with me that you're giving value or whatever opinion you want to defend. Honestly, even if you're right 100% and I'm wrong, I can't be bothered because I'm not trying to proof anything here. You see, I don't have an ego to feed. Maybe I have. But obviously, not here.

Giving a free gift before a product launch is a brilliant strategy. I use it as well but I think it will no longer be as effective as it is today. I mean, you would have realized that tons of marketers are using it like nobody’s business.

So here's my 2 cents opinion if you're a marketer planning to use this method:

Be honest and tell the truth. In your free gift, don't hide anything. Tell them why you're giving this free gift and what they can expect to buy from you soon. You can be upfront or indirectly, but tell the truth. And guys and girls... for everyone's benefit -- Give real content or useful application. Don't create a free report with 5 pages of content and 10 pages of salesletter. Yeah, real content. Not some camouflage content that leaves the reader nothing more than hanging with more questions.

As a person receiving this free gift:

I think you should study the marketing strategy that took place in front of your computer screen as a real life case study. And this is also where you can see who are the joint venture partners involved. See how they are promoting it and why they are doing so.

If you're the JV partner to promote this:

I wouldn't suggest you to go ahead and give the free gift without any unique twist. Don't follow the herd otherwise you're not going to get a lot of sales. Trust me, I've been there.

Software Sourcecode Crap

The good thing with the 'internet marketing' niche, there are marketers that sell software source code. That's good because you can be a 'software developer' even though you don’t have a knick for software.

But it can turn ugly.

Last month, I bought a software source code package that cost me hundreds of dollars. I thought that was one of my best purchases because the salesletter claims how useful these bunch of source codes can do.

Until I got it.

Man, at least 50% of the software can't work or have serious bugs in them.

I don't need to say how unhappy I am. I mean, I'm not complaining about the price. I just want to buy things that work.

No, it's not Jeremy Burn’s software, if you're thinking of him. (smile)

Lesson learned:

Never buy source code from marketers unless they are real programmers. Better still, if they are programming geeks. You see, programmers are different 'breed' of human when it comes to selling. They are nice people who care about the quality of the software. They'll be focused on creating bug-free source code and best of all, they love their product.

Why My $7 Product Sells

There's a $7 product promotion craze online recently. But most of the time I won't buy any of them. You see, I DON'T MIND PAYING if I know I'm going to get the real stuff. The problem with these $7 product is that... they are not complete.

It's like paying to read a sales pitch to purchase a more expensive product. Ok, I'm exaggerating. :-) But hey, you get my point right?

These marketers think they are smart -- Giving you some 'sweet stuff' and getting you to buy another product by not 'completing' the product's content. That's nice. It would be really nice if the $7 report is complete.

But I'll buy if the salesletter claims to solve a precise problem. Like a report how to get free traffic from youtube.com by getting a lot of viewer votes.

The keyword to sell a $7 (or any low-end product) without getting people to throw apples at you is to give a "complete" product.

Don't sell a report telling how great you can submit articles automatically but you must buy my article submission software or else it won't work. If you do that, be prepared to be jeered and receive hate emails. But if you have an alternative that they can do this without software but slower, hey, that's fine. At least, it's ain't a hardcore sales pitch but some valuable content that works.

That's why, my recent software offering of The PDF Profit Lock was sold so successfully. A lot of my subscribers and customers bought it because it's cheap (but doesn't mean poor quality) and it's a complete product. No upsell or some sort of one-time offer thingy.

It's a cool software that can help you to get free traffic from viral marketing. I urge you to get a copy at www.automateinternetmarketing.com/pdfprofit. And if you're an internet marketer, get the RESALE RIGHTS so that you can sell and make 100% pure profit.

I Said This Recently

There's a Chinese Proverb that goes...

Swift as the wind,
Quiet like the forest,
Conquer like fire,
Steady like mountain.

That's the introduction that I'll normally use when I was invited to speak at internet marketing seminars or events.

You need to build your online business as fast as you can because speed is the essence of success.

Once you made money online, keep it quiet to yourself and laugh your way to the bank. Don't be a silly fool to start telling the whole world how successful is your online business because there's no point to attract competitors. Unless, if you want to be in the 'internet marketing' niche to prove your success and make money there, go ahead. But be prepare to lose your income from your REAL online business.

Having a presence in your niche is not enough. "Conquer like fire"... make sure you dominate it as much as you can.

And most importantly, build it so strong so that it's unshakable and it can create wealth for you even though you're away for a week. Hey, I'm being honest. I don't think any internet marketer's online business will go on auto-pilot if they take one-month break. I know this for a fact because many of my internet 'guru' friends work their ass off.

One more thing about seminar -

One day when you're engage to speak at seminars, I'm sure you'll be on top of your world. Congrats on your success. But never be a name dropper, too much. Once in a while is good because it helps on the reputation.

I mean, you'll probably heard it all the time online in emails that he's a good friend of bla, bla, bla super guru marketer and so on. Like I said, it's fine to mention once in a while, but please stop it if it's getting out of control. If I told you how close my friendship is with Stephen Pierce, don’t I look like a name dropper or something?

I know success by association is powerful. But I'm a strong believer that... If you're good, you're good. People have ears and eyes to know what's going on. They are not stupid. I mean, you and me are not stupid.

Remember -- People are more concern about themselves than you. That's the marketing rule #1. So when you overdo it, instead of trying to convince people how strong your 'success by association' thingy is, you end up to be a name dropper or someone who is full of hot air balloon. You see, you got it but they don't. They're more concern of how they can get the same association like yours instead of hearing your self-ego association.

This goes to another thing I want to emphasize in business life --

Many people got it wrong by reading books or courses because marketing is not fixed. It doesn't means that if you know how to solve X, you can always solve it with method A. Marketing varied from cases to cases and a marketer proves his skill by being able to adapt and come up with business solutions when unexpected problem arise. There's where method B, C and D are developed on the fly.

If someone knows about 'social proof' from A BOOK rather than real life experience, he'll probably disagree with me with my opinion above and unsubscribe from my list.

The key to success is to learn from execution, not theories. I think that's why marketing guru like Jay Abraham can demand a fee up to $5,000 an hour because of the vast experience he have.

If you have been reading the "Sunday Email" series, I'll always ask for your favor to leave a Comment if you find value of what you've read. It'll be most appreciated because I read every single one of them. (smile)

A New Source Of 'No-Cost' Traffic...

I've discovered a new software that
literally goes out there and 'grabs' me
traffic and sales on autopilot!

In fact, a friend of mine brought in over
653 opt-ins and $1632.45 in sales in his
first attempt at using this tool.

Not shabby at all, considering that he
didn't pay a dime in advertising. Plus
there were no JV partners or affiliates.

I liked the tool so much I decided to grab
the license to it, and make it available
to you for less than 10 bucks at:

http://www.automateinternetmarketing.com/pdfprofit/

Don't be fooled by it's low price though.

The software really does EVERYTHING
the copy claims it does.

Try it out, and I think you'll be pleased
with the results.

P.S: RESALE RIGHTS are available as well.
