What Can You Do With Fifty Bucks?

You can go out for a couple of coffee or beer. But I wouldn't suggest that because you'll be dehydrated.

But in actual fact-- you can start an online business with fifty bucks and I know it may sounds ridiculous. To tell you the truth, I spent less slightly more when I first setup my online business 4 years ago in 2003.

So let me paint a clearer picture to you...

Imagine that you're running a business in the conventional world of selling products.

You'll have 2 main fix costs-- the staff and office rental/mortgage. Then if your business revolves on selling, you DEFINITELY need the staff for customer service and sales. Your other miscellaneous costs would be the electricity bill, water bill, phone bills, transportation, cleaners, etc.

I assume that you can expect to fork out in between $3,500 to $5,000 a month easily just for hiring 2 staff and renting a decent workable office.

Do remember that to setup a business in the offline world, you'll need to have your office renovated and decorated.

Also, don't forget to get the office furniture and equipments like chairs, tables, phones, computers, software, cubicle partitions, etc. I'm sure you'll know that it's going to cost a bomb for someone who have limited budget to get these. You could end up spending over $7,000 for a start.

Hhm.

Let's examine the startup cost for an online business:

1. A computer. You already have this or else you won't be reading this page.

2. An internet connection. You're already paying the bill each month. Why not use it to create an income for you now?

3. Webpage creator software. You can get this for free if you don't want to buy any advance software. Let me just share this ‘secret’ with you… its call NVU at www.nvu.com. Download it for free.

4. Other additional software like audio recording, image editor, documenting software, webmaster tools-- you can get all of them for free too.

Setup cost ==> $0.

Your fix cost:

1. Your domain name. Dirt cheap. You can get it for $8.95 only, A YEAR.

2. Your hosting. Less than $5 a month.

3. Automation system. You'll need to have a kind of system to power your internet business such as email followups, tracking software, affiliate management, etc.

This is the SAME functionality of having a team of staff to manage and grow your business which will cost you approximately $3,000 in the offline world. Online? Dirt cheap again. Less than $50 a month. And get this-- You an even avoid using any ecommerce system and simply rely on the free ones if you are on the shoestring budget!

So here's how much your monthly cost for building an online business that can generate thousands of dollars in return:

1. Conventional offline business => $3,500 to $5,000 a month with setup of approximately $7,000.

2. Online business => less than $55 a month. Heck, if you don't want to use a more sophisticated automation system, you can have an online business get up and running profitably for less than 10 dollars! Ten dollars a month. That's less than $0.35 cents a day!

If you're wondering why you would want to pay for certain systems or software when you can get them for free is this-- the paid ones are normally more user-friendly, ads-free, better quality or it can complete your tasks quicker. You can always invest in them later on when you're making some nice cash.

Come to think of it, the cost of entry to start an online business is insanely low. The day I've started making money online, I could never consider setting up offline businesses anymore. For a small cost, I could get the yield return of 10,000%! I can turn $10 to $1,000. Or more. If you're not jumping on this money-making bandwagon today, you're losing out one of the biggest opportunities ever existed in our time.

One more thing that's worth mentioning-- 10 bucks is just like having a cup of coffee and a piece of cake at Starbucks. Can you skip those and invest for your future instead?

Here's a crash course guideline to start an online business--

Research for a profitable niche market and create/obtain a product to sell in it. Once you have found this demand, setup your website as your 'storefront' or else no one can buy from you. At the same time, make sure you have a simple system to build your subscriber or customer database for future sales follow up. Once these are all taken care of, start to drive traffic to your webpage and convert them into leads and customers.

From there-- continue to grow your business by applying new methods or enhance the techniques you’re using with success for better result.

Let's look closer for the cost:

1. Find your market. Free.

2. Setup your webpage and write the salesletter. Free. The domain name would probably cost you $8.95 per year from godaddy.com and $5 a month for the hosting.

3. Create or obtain a product to sell. Cost = $0.

4. Collecting payment online. There are several companies on the internet that provide this type of service but you can always use the free ones. The most famous one would be Paypal.com. Cost to register? $0.

5. A simple system to build your database and email followup software. The free ones normally have ads or limited features but you can definitely get a free service to use temporarily.

5. Driving traffic. There are tons of methods that you can use for free and yet effective. One of the best free ones I'm using is by getting JV partners for promotion. Work like a charm. And it works in ANY TYPE OF NICHE MARKET.

So if you're procrastinating to get started because you think that you have limited fund, guess what-- you just need $50 bucks to get started. Isn't that good news?

Come to think of it, you'll be investing by using your credit card anyway. Since that’s the case, you're literally starting a business with 'no money down'. You then got 30 solid days to make some cash to pay back your credit card company... like a measly 50 dollars? Worst case—EVEN IF YOU FAIL, you just lose a couple of drinks with that amount of money. (smile)

Sunday Email Part 13

If you're new to my subscription and wondering what is a "Sunday Email", it's an email full of my rants, personal tips and opinions on marketing especially in the "internet marketing" niche. Sometimes, opinions on life. Whatever it is... it'll give you value after reading it.

You know-- sometimes my Sunday Emails can be harsh. Cuts through like a ninja's blade. But come on, they're my rants. If I want to keep everyone happy and write about the colorful rainbow, birds chirping, flowers blooming, etc then I should just opens up a nursery home and take care of children.

So if you can relate to what I wrote when reading it-- good because I know it had just served the purpose of helping people.

Can't Make The First Dollar Or A Million

I get it-- why most of the people just can't make a single dollar online.

You see, building an online business is just like watching a movie.

You got to start from the beginning and ACTUALLY COMPLETE it. Very simple concept right?

Start from the beginning and complete the whole darn thing.

But people don't do that! Either they can't or don't want. Who cares. The point is, they don't complete it.

They get sidetracked. Whether it's because of a 'better' opportunity arises or something just pops up in front of them at that time.

All you need to do is to complete it.

In an internet marketing coaching program like the Chan Do Internet Success System, all the clients need to do is just to complete the short 6 weeks of training that are prepared step-by-step.

IT'S THAT EASY. Attend it. Be present. Understand it. And do what it ask you to do and you'll make money online. But darn it. Some will attend but not being present. Some will attend, be present but wouldn't try to understand it. Some will have everything but refuse to do it for whatever crappy reasons possible.

If 6 weeks is considered long, then those people taking MBA or a business degree must be crazy to spend years of learning.

So now after completing your training, you need to complete the action steps. The "do it" part. Like in Chan Do Internet Success System Coaching Program, there are 6 steps needed to be completed--

Step #1: Find and identify a profitable niche in the long tail market online

Step #2: Create your own money-making info-product to sell on the internet

Step #3: Design the 'correct' webpage and write a salesletter

Step #4: Master the techniques of email marketing

Step #5: Advertise and promote your webpage effectively online

Step #6: Strategic planning to grow your business and add more new tactics

Complete the training and complete what you need to do.

If you don't complete, how can you expect the system to work like magic? Just like watching a movie-- How are you going to know the conclusion of the movie if you don't finish it from the start?

It's ridiculous not to complete what you start.

It's even more ridiculous not to do anything once you have the million dollar idea in your brain and gone through the training to understand how to do it.

The Paypal Story

I think you might have heard horror stories of how other people's Paypal account were 'frozen' or suspended for investigation. And thus, the money in their Paypal was not able to be withdrawn upon request.

And because of that, there are just so many misleading information of NOT to use Paypal in product launch. The rant here is not about Paypal or their rules-- But about judging advice from theories than experiencing it first hand.

Because one marketer or two land him/themselves into a hot soup, it doesn't means that is the actual fact.

I've been marketing online for 4 years now and I've never have an issue with Paypal. As a matter of fact, I like Paypal because they're professional and trustworthy. I've got a Paypal Manager that assists me if I'm having any issue to be resolved.

For instance— I've already emailed to my Paypal Manager that I'll be launching my coaching program on 18th July and to be aware of sudden sales volume within 24 hours.

**Note: 18th July launch is the Chan Do Internet Success System Coaching Program at www.youchandoit.com.

If you're going to bet the success of your online business based on what you hear from gurus, I'll suggest you to think twice.

As a matter of fact, don't listen or believe anything I say. Just absorb what I said and digest them for your own advantage to see if they are right for you. I don't claim to be the person who knows everything about internet marketing but as someone who’s humbly sharing the experience I have to make money online. I have been blessed to making 5-6 figure income on the internet in a single month and I can show you how but it is you to decide how to use the information.

Timing's Right?

I was once asked,

"Patric, do you think it is right the time now to start an internet business?"

I'm sure this is just an innocent question asked to know if he should get involved with internet marketing or not.

But the problem is, there's no one universal right timing, bucko. Some people think the right time will come next week, next month, next year, next decade or whatever. It's just like I've been hearing that now's the best time to go into the health market because of baby boomers. Wait. Didn't I hear that 5 years ago?

You gotta hear where do the marketing messages are coming from. Actually, they're noises-- not messages if they not from the right source. Confusing ones.

There are three types of people.

The first one is those who will take action without knowing anything. Folks say, taking action is important. Bzzz. Wrong. Taking action by knowing WHAT TO DO CORRECTLY is the right thing but taking action merely for lying to ourselves that we're productive is not smart. That's call waste of energy because nothing's gonna get accomplished by the end of the day. That's call taking stupid risk.

Then there's the category of people that will wait for the 'right' timing and never do anything. In actual fact, they're just procrastinating because they have other things more 'important' to accomplish.

And the last one is those who knows the right thing and do it regardless of timing. These are the people like you-- success seekers. Kudos.

If you want to wait, fine. Good thing I didn't wait years ago or else I'll still be stuck wondering why others are making a good living online amd envy of them.

Especially in the long tail niche market, timing is irrelevant. I don't see the 'next big thing' in this type of market but a consistent interest of people in it.

Final thought? The quicker you start, the more money you're gonna make.

If you have been reading the "Sunday Email" series, I'll always ask for your favor to leave a Comment if you find value of what you've read. It'll be most appreciated because I read all of them personally. (smile)

Use This Free Strategy In Your Niche Market

I'm excited to share this with you. After 4 years of marketing online, I found out that this strategy is still effective-- In fact, the effectiveness has increased.

There will be one traffic strategy that will still guaranteed to work in years to come... joint venture marketing or JV, for short.

It's the most powerful concept I've ever known existed.

You see, I've seen traffic method like Google Adwords changed before my eyes. I was bidding at five cents per click for a competitive niche market 3 years ago. There were less than 3 ads competing with me at that time.

Today? The bid price would be at least 5 times more and there are at least 20 other competitive ads for the same keyword.

So I have to leave that game. Since I was relaying 90% traffic from that method alone, my whole online niche business died. Of course, I was being ignorant of not tracking the performance and letting it go on 'autopilot'.

Throw me a strategy that is still working as effective as it was 4 years ago. Of course there will be-- but very few.

If you have doubt on the effectiveness of JV, I want you to learn a lesson here-- Sometimes, you learn not from what the gurus teach you but observing what they are doing.

As long as you're subscribed to some sort of internet marketing list, you would have received email promotions of the latest reports, ebooks or courses that promise to reveal powerful online money-making techniques.

Let me pick an example. You would have seen the crazed of certain ebooks in Clickbank.com that have sold 1,000 or 5,000 copies on the topic of making money from affiliate marketing, Google Adwords, blogging, selling ads, Adsense, etc. Although making money from these techniques are lucrative but they're not as easy and lucrative as using joint venture to promote the course itself and make lots of money in return.

They probably took months or years to learn the money-making strategies taught in the course and execute them to make money online successfully. But it just take days to promote the course by using JV and made the same amount of money or more.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not putting down the courses. I'm just elaborating on joint venture marketing, that's all. In fact, thank God they sell such courses or else you and I will never get the chance to learn new powerful money-making techniques. I'm serious.

But JV is also getting more competitive in niche markets.

You see, more and more people are starting to be aware of niche marketing and the goldmine in it. There is so much money to be made here.

This means the same JV partner that you want to seek might already been approached by several other niche marketers. It's all about timing then. If you're late, you might miss the boat or wait in a long line.

And if you're going into niche marketing by selling a private label rights product, forget about doing JV because you're going to leave a bad impression-- being not original or exclusive. It'll kill your credibility and reputation before you even step in the market.

With all of that said, there's still a massive way to leverage on JV marketing if done correctly-- going for the long tail niche market.

First of all, the potential JV partners will be approached less. You see, the long tail niche market is 'big' in its own way.

Focus on relationship. I would rather have close relation with a JV partner that has highly targeted visitor or subscribers. On top of that, his topic will be much related to mine because it's a long tail.

Do you see the leverage of it if both of us will keep on promoting each other for long term?

Now here's the best part-- You don't stick to just one JV partner only. You get JV partners. If you think the volume is small, think again. How would you know the volume is small? This is not a trick question, my friend. You cannot know the amount of volume from the surface through simple statistical research.

A long tail niche product has something different... it's call exclusivity. I'm sure you can find gazillions of 'how to lose weight' products out there but not too many for "how to lose weight through Yoga" or "daily methods to lose weight for busy working adults".

When a JV partner in a niche market is approached with a unique product, it's easier to get his attention. I mean, if he's already teaching his subscribers and customers about grooming dog, why would he wants to promote another grooming dog product?

Nothing wrong with it but I think he would be more interested to promote products related to dog health, maybe?

At the same time, you're not leaving out other income potential. There is so many other diet sites out there. And I mean sites, not salesletter pages. You see, these sites get a lot of traffic and what you want is to create a relationship for long term instead of the typical one-time email promotion. In a theoretical world, they can always have a banner of yours display on their site or included in their recommended page and so on. Of course this is easier said than done but it's possible because the long tail is just a tail of electrons that never takes up space.

Feel free to leave your Comment if you have gained any value from this post. I'll appreciate that since I read all of the Comments personally. :-)

Squeezing Out The Most Traffic From A Long Tail Niche Market

Let's say you know how to locate a long tail niche market and identify the profitability of it.

Then you have your site up and running.

Got a product to sell.

And let's assumed that every little, nitty gritty thing is already taken care of.

All you need now is traffic. Real traffic.

Traffic that converts into buyers.

It turns out that this targeted traffic is easier to obtain in the long tail niches.

Let's take search engine optimization for instance. You should know by now that targeting the right keyword to be optimized is crucial for success. Even if you're the #1 SEO Guru and you do all sort of onsite or offsite optimization, you're not gonna get listed if you don’t know how to select the keyword.

You think I'm kidding. Just go to any SEO expert and tell him you want to get rank for the keyword "hosting", "business opportunity", "real estate" or "lose weight" and he'll has a hard time to do this. Probably shaking his head now.

If he can, that’s great. He's da man.

Let's look at the other way round...

With minimal knowledge of search engine optimization, I think you can get rank for long tail keywords such as "hosting company in Australia", "health supplement business opportunity", "how to buy real estate" or "how to lose weight for man".

That's why I said getting real traffic for long tail niche markets are many times easier. The first concern someone will bring up is that these keywords will have very little online searches only. That's true but who's asking you to just optimized just one keyword?

Keyword like "how to lose weight for man" can be derived or expanded to "losing weight for man", "how to lose weight fast for man", "how to become slim for man", "how to lose fat for man" and the list goes on. If all of these can give you free targeted traffic, what's stopping you to optimize new keywords each time you're free?

Just like Adsense income. I don't rely my Adsense income from one site. I have tens of thousands webpages 'floating' on the internet for the sole purpose of generating income from Adsense. But that's a totally different story because we're not here to talk about Adsense.

And search engine is just one of the many good ways to get traffic.

Here's another tip:

Have you ever consider of having your own forum for a long tail niche market before?

By just doing this alone, you're going to attract traffic to your site and unleash it out virally. Guess what- when someone is looking for a niche forum, they'll use the search engine to find. Just try. How about searching for "Persian cat forum"?

See the listings that come out. Examine the sites and you'll soon realize that they’re not your typical sites created with the intention of search engine optimization. But they'll still be on page #1 because no internet marketers are trying to crush them and besides, Google.com rank sites based on relevancy.

And by becoming the ONLY ONE forum that caters to this long tail niche market, you're going to get others to start referring their friends over. Free traffic.

This is another scenario of market domination in action. But if you want to create a forum on a general niche topic like 'health diet', good luck to you. Not impossible--just be prepared to do extremely a lot of work to compete with hundreds of other forums out there.

What you're learning here?

The market can never be too small because we're dealing with a worldwide market reach and electrons.

However, I don't see myself using SEO to get traffic as the number one choice. There's one strategy to get traffic that I highly recommend... I'll share this in my email tomorrow.

You probably know about my limited coaching program. Only 50 people can attend and if you want to make sure that you'll be one of them, go to www.youchandoit.com right now. Don't forget to request for a copy of "Niche Marketing Riches In 6 Weeks Or Less" Report there.

The Niche Long Tail

I wanted to write and publish an issue of the Sunday Email last week but I don't have any "good" rants to be shared that time. (smile)

I'll sure to have one this coming Sunday.

At the same time, I've prepared a report you should read called the Competitive Intelligence For Profit at www.thebackendmastery.com/ci. It's free.

The Niche Long Tail content below is supposed to be part of the Sunday Email 13 but since it's not Sunday today, I can't call it that.

-Patric

--------------------

The Niche Long Tail

Is the death of niche marketing here?

If you're trying to go into the niche of dating, dog training, diet or any other niches that you've been hearing how the internet gurus are ripping the profit like crazy, the answer is yes.

Years ago, it was easy to make a profit in niche markets.

But with the launch of private label rights and all sort of niche marketing memberships that provide market research, keyword list, competitive analysis, etc, the game have become more competitive than ever-- for those who have no clue about building a profitable online business. For experience marketers? Not a bit.

Imagine anyone can dives into niche marketing business almost within 24 hours with such available tools nowadays. That's either scary or a darn good news. The gurus are even happier because they can use these for their advantage simply because they KNOW HOW.

However, most people don't get it. For instance, they get private label rights content of the dating niche and are excited about selling a dating info-product. Here's what will happen-- They'll go head-to-head clash competition with the old school gurus that have been in that niche for years and wonder why it never works.

They are not afraid of competition. I mean the old school players. Just like the lucrative internet marketing niche. Do you think the players in this niche are worry about new comers? NOT AT ALL because they have the authority and credibility to support them. And most importantly, they got the network of joint venture partners that had been built since day one. I'm not worry of competition.

So this leads me to another discovery of niche marketing-- the long tail goldmine. Some called them the 'low hanging fruit'. Others called them, 'sub-market'. Whatever.

The long tail of niche marketing is nothing new but it wasn't brought up interestingly enough to the public. Several reasons to that. Most 'internet marketers' that teach niche marketing do not have a niche marketing business and that's an ugly fact. So they really don't have any ideas how this works. Therefore, you'll see a lot of niche marketing courses available because most of them are rehash information without tested-proven strategies.

Second reason? Those who know don't teach. It's either because they're not interested to expand their business in the internet marketing niche or they're too busy making money in the long tail of niche marketing.

Now-- you might have heard about the long tail from others. Good-- you're keeping your heads up. And the biggest question that I have from my coaching students is this...

"Patric, the market size is too small compare to the broad niche market. How can I make a lot of profit in it because I'm restricted to the maximum volume of traffic?"

Notice that Amazon.com has almost any book titles you're looking for. Even those rare ones. Those are the long tails and they are there for a reason—there's a demand and people are buying. Imagine if Amazon.com throws away all of the long tails books--I dare to bet that it'll affect their bottom line profit.

I know of a brilliant internet marketer who is making sales by selling public domain books in the long tail category because no one is seeing that opportunity. Those 'old' books still have its own market.

Back the question of having a small size of market. That's not true.

How can you tell whether a market is big or not? Based on the Overture or any other keyword tools? That's insane. You're betting your business on these tools when there's a chance you do not understand how niche marketing research works. Those tools are useful for organic or paid search engine competitive research but just a tip of the iceberg for niche marketing research.

There's more than meets the eye, my friend.

Although the size of a market or volume is very important to determine the profitability of a long tail market, it also zooms down to dominating the long tail market. I don't mind if the market is small if I'm the dominant player in it because the reward will be bigger. It's better to be a big fish in a small pond than a small fish in a big pond.

Market domination can be summarized as being the 'goto' site and #1 recommendation for your long tail niche market. In further elaboration, market domination can come in many forms—search engines, list, joint venture partners, affiliate programs, etc. If your site appears on #1 or #2 in google.com for certain keyword search, you're dominating the search engine keyword niche.

I guess too many people are focused on the 'big payoff' in a particular niche market because of being exposed with so many dreams and hopes. Sometimes, I was 'trapped' in there as well but I'll always try to be aware of what's going on. Once you're aware, you'll see more opportunity in it. If you see the 'diet' niche can be super lucrative, think of its long tail. Follow that.

Starting an online business to make money is NOT HARD-- it just requires investing your time to learn and do it.

But truly, there's money to be made in the long tail niche markets that are ready to be taken advantage-- best of all, it's just under your nose and not many people are trying to share your pie.

I've stop taking any new coaching clients for the Chan Do Internet Success System Coaching Program for a year now due to my business schedule and other priorities in life. However, it'll be reopened for registration again. Finally. Here's a ticket that will give you the true secrets of making money in a niche market profitably, go to www.youchandoit.com

Competitive Intelligence

The Competitive Intelligence For Profit Report.

In this report you'll discover...

*Why competitive intelligence is so important. This is one of those "tricks of the trade" people rarely talk about but it can be extremely profitable when done right.

*How to profit from "EGO" searches. Your biggest and most financially successful competitors like to publicly pat themselves on the back and now (if you're hungry) you can make them pay for it.

*How to position your products to beat the competition without competing on price. Most people tell you to beat the competition by lowering your price but that's actually the opposite of what you really should do.

*How to ethically "steal" traffic from your competitors and generate targeted free traffic without spending any money. This is part of the "CI" process and it allows you to get free traffic for any of the products you sell.
