The 'Evergreen' Way To Make Money Online

This write-up is all about list building.

For those of you who are not familiar with what's a mailing list, it's a basically a list of subscribers or customers that you can contact them at anytime you wish. Marketers generate income by promoting a product to their mailing list.

If you've been in the internet marketing scene for a while, you would know by now that building a list is the MOST IMPORTANT aspect of your entire internet business. I mean it. But this article is not supposed to bore you with how important it is.

I want you to know that there's no complex science to list building. It's nothing more than driving traffic to a webpage or website that has an opt-in mechanism – a way how the visitors can subscribe to your list. That's it!

So what else to be learned about this 'science' then? Well, a lot.

The obvious ones are how to get better subscription conversion, relationship building and most importantly, to generate income with a list.

The topic's huge. I mean, why some marketers with 100,000 subscribers make less income with a marketer with 10,000 subscribers?

Answer: Various of reasons ranging on how the email is structured to the behavior of the subscribers.

Then there are all kinds of subscriber qualities. Some will hardly open your email and some will look forward for it.

The weird thing about generating income from a list that always puzzles me is this – Some marketers email out nothing else but ads to their lists but they make more money than those who send out regular content.

Conclusion? There's no right or wrong to monetize income from it – it's how the list is built and developed.

I do want to leave this write-up with a solid list building tip...

Visitors will only subscribe to your list if they see your offer is VALUABLE to them. I don't think many will subscribe if you just have a subscription box that says, "Enter your name and email below to subscribe".

They must get something in return. And it's your talent how to present your offer so that they can see how valuable it is. That's where most 'marketers' mess up. Stacking up more free gifts for subscribing will not help but stacking up the value will. If your offer is NOT because of the value they get for subscribing but for the free gifts, then you'll be attracting those who want your free gifts but not looking forward to hear from you. At the same time, you might show 'desperation' for them to subscribe because you're throwing too many free gifts.

The way how your list is build will affect how profitable it will be because you're being evaluated on the first encounter with them. If a marketer is being evaluated as a 'sucker' for giving away free gifts, then why would his subscribers want to buy from him? I'm sure the subscribers would prefer to do business or buy from a reliable source – They would buy from a marketer who they subscribed because they WANT to hear from him. Make sense?

Going back to basic – building a list is nothing than getting traffic to a page that converts.

Say you know how to get traffic. Besides, getting traffic is a scientific learning process. It's easy because you just need to follow the instructions. Submit videos to video directories and you'll get traffic. Optimize your page and you'll get traffic from the search engines. I hope you see the point.

Whether you want to improve your subscription conversion or sales from your email marketing, there's absolutely one 'weapon' that you must have in your arsenal. Let's face it – how do you communicate via webpage or email? Words in text. Although you can use video on webpage, but you'll still use the classic text in emails and it's the emails that will make you the money or not – not the darn squeeze page.

Copywriting, my friend. Get that formula right and you'll be rich.

You know-- sometimes my Sunday Emails can be harshed. Cuts through like a ninja's blade. But come on, they're my rants. If I want to keep everyone happy and write about the colorful rainbow, birds chirping, flowers blooming, etc then I should just opens up a nursery home and take care of children.

So if you can relate to what I wrote when reading it-- good because I know it had just served the purpose of helping people.

One more thing-- it'll offend marketers. I hope you're not the one.

When I Passed Phrase #1, My Internet Business Starts Generating Income

I started marketing online 3 years ago.

When I first started out, I have the same mentality as most innocent newbies – "Finally, I can reach millions of people to buy my product. I'll be rich. Just $10 from 100,000 people will make me a million dollar."

Then I started reading ebooks and was told the secrets of mailing to a list. If I can reach millions of people through email, I will make millions.

It's always millions – either it's millions of traffic, subscribers or dollars.

To be honest, I can't care less of what's an internet business at that time. I just want to make money online as fast as I can. And since I've been reading so many ebooks that say it's possible, I'm all set.

You know the rest of the story. I didn't get millions of visitors or subscriber. I didn't make millions of dollars that time.

THAT'S THE FIRST PHASE OF REALITY WE'LL GONE THROUGH AT THE FIRST TIME WE WERE INTRODUCT TO INTERNET OPPORTUNITY. And that's fine.

Perception and reality.

I mean, you've probably been pitched before to buy a resale rights products. The marketer will tell you that you'll be rich because there is no competition! There are 3,245,999 people searching on this topic on the internet so you will not be competing with other resellers. Sure, right.

Perception – You can sell to millions of people online without competition.

Reality – You probably won't reach millions of people and you'll have heck of a competition if you're a newbie. Well, there are only 10 places at Google.com's first page, right? So if you're somehow listed #6 or whatsoever, your competitors are on the same page too. And if you're selling for $27 and he's giving the product away for free, touch luck for you.

There's nothing wrong to be in phrase #1. Don't tell me you never thought of the 'million dream'. Millions of this, millions of that.

Then you'll be hit with the truth that phrase #1 dream will NEVER come true for you. You've been lied by the courses that give you that perception. It did came true for some people but they're not newbies or new to this internet marketing game. So now, you're aware of what's going on – living in reality.

If you're 'awake', you'll be making money online soon because you'll start to discover what works and have practical expectations.

The PROBLEM IS, MOST PEOPLE STILL WANT TO LIVE IN DENIAL OF REALITY. Maybe because it's fun. Who knows.

They still want to sell a million copy of their ebook. They still want to get millions of visitors on the internet by pressing a button. They still want to hold tight to their believe that they don't need to do anything and money will start coming into their bank account if they buy another 'turnkey' business or 'business-in-a-box'.

That IS the problem. And if you refuse to let go Phrase #1 and you're my subscriber, please unsubscribe right now. You're wasting your time – and mine trying to help you.

Positive thinking and being practical are not the same. If you want to be a 'positive thinker' and ask me to take a hike because you believe you can sell a million copy of an ebook online, be my guest. I'm not going to stop you to pursue your dream. Fact is, phrase #1 might become a reality if you're already on top of your game.

If you can let go of that, then here's the basic thing you need to know about making money online:

You need traffic. So you better get good on it. Next thing about traffic is conversion. How to convert the visitors into income. THAT'S IT. Why in the world are we making that more complex than ever?

My recommendations for traffic source include search engines, viral marketing, pay per clicks, own affiliate program, joint ventures and social sites because these are those I'm using with result.

For conversion, learn about direct response marketing, site designs, images and most important, copywriting. You'll survive by just mastering copywriting. Serious.

If it's too hard for you to have or create your own product to sell, just promote others to earn commission. This is call affiliate program and there are thousands for you to choose from at www.clickbank.com, www.paydotcom.com, www.cj.com, www.linkshare.com, www.shareasale.com, www.affiliate-program.amazon.com, www.pepperjamnetwork.com/ and a lot more out there.

Also, don't forgot to soak your brain with knowledge about building a profitable internet business, not just thinking of how to make money online.

You see, once we have bypass Phrase #1, it's easier than you think to make money online because you know what are possible now and also, what kind of knowledge you're be looking for. Noises will be filtered. Most don't want to 'let go' because they don't want to accept the fact that they need to work on it. Come on, if there's no work, your neighbors and your milkman will be doing this too.

In closing, don't waste your time in Phrase #1 if you're a newbie. The quicker you get out from it, the faster you'll see income coming your way.
