Building a mailing list is important but …

Making sure it’s responsive is more important!

Honestly, I’ve heard many times when people said they have
a huge list especially when they are approaching a joint
venture partner. What I do in return is to ask this
question:

“What is your click through rate for each promotion to your
mailing list?”

I want to make this very clear -- It doesn’t matter how
huge the list is.

You can have 100,000 opt-ins but if each time you make a
promotion, you’re only getting 100 clicks, your list is not
a good list.

But if you have a small list like 5,000 and get 500 clicks,
that’s good.

There are only three things (that I can think of) why
people will want to read your emails (If you’re mailing
out):

1. You must give good content so that people benefit from
reading it

2. It must be personal so that your subscriber knows that
whatever you’re recommending, is in their best interests..

3. It must be something you believe in. No matter whether
you’re doing business offline or online, business integrity
is a MUST.

Everybody seems to be in a rush to build a huge mailing
list because they have been taught that ‘The Money Is In
The List’.

On the contrary, I think you should be building a
relationship with your subscribers. That is more important.

It’s the habit of seeking something ‘New’. New subscribers.

If you have a list now, don’t bother about building more
until you can communicate with your existing subscribers
well enough.

Besides, if you want to help someone, would you prefer to
help a stranger or a friend? And conversely, wouldn't you
be more likely to accept help from a friend than from a
stranger?

So, what’s the difference with your subscribers if you want
to help them? They are your friends and you should be in
communication with them as often as possible (within reason
of course).

Yeah, it can be expensive. So instead of buying 5 new

Buying Resale Rights Tip

Recently, I notice that a lot of internet marketers are
selling resale rights of this and that. I think that’s
great because they are adding value for people who don’t
have a product to sell instantly.

But if you’re a buyer, I want to share this tip with you
before you order any resale rights:

         “Is there any price control?”

Let’s say you buy X product resale rights. John, Larry and
Mary have bought it too.

And there’s no price control – Meaning, you can sell it at
any price you want with a suggested price of $37.

John might sell it at $27. Ok, you’re still calm and want
to retain the price of $37.

That’s fine. But Larry starts to panic and he begins
selling it at $19!

Now, when Mary realizes this, she thinks that she’ll then
sell it at $17 so that she’ll ‘win’.

Here’s the bad news:

People who own the resale rights are not 4 people. It’ll
probably be in the hundreds.

And after few weeks, someone will start to give it away for
free. That would be the end of your hopes of selling it
again.

     “But Patric, the market won’t get saturated!”

It depends. If you’re selling to a niche market like dog
owners, you might be right. But if you’re selling to the
‘internet marketing niche’, I think most of the prospects
are savvy enough to use Google.com!
